Hi - my name is Tom Krenek and I have been in business for 20 years at various locations in Chicago. I opened the Emporium in 2000 and it has around 16 dealers and a varied range of items. Building on this success I opened another store right next door in the old Cinema during 2002. I have now moved right along the street to new premises at 7501 W Madison.
You will still find a great mix of collectibles and I am happy to share my all round knowledge - we learn all the time in this business.
My partner Dale Baron and I are happy to provide a whole range of specialist Estate Sales options within the Chicago area - just give us a call. We go from a basic sell situation to a total empty and clean option - already for the realtor to market the property. Alternatively we are happy to buy the whole contents or just select items.
In 2005 we took the plunge and began importing choice furniture from England. We try to make at least two trips each year to purchase items. Over in the UK, we work in association with our English partners and they are happy to look for select items sourced from auction houses or Antique Fairs. We are now on our third container.
